FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The short version: ChooChoo cannot view your application, influence the hiring decision, or contact the hiring platform on your behalf. For anything about your specific application, contact the hiring platform directly.
Is ChooChoo the employer?

No. ChooChoo curates and explains publicly posted opportunities. The company or platform named in each listing is the one making the hire, setting the terms, and paying you.

Are these full-time jobs?

Some are, but most listed roles are independent-contractor projects with variable hours rather than traditional full-time employment. Each listing states the contract type — check it before applying.

Why do some links contain referral codes?

ChooChoo may earn a referral payment when you apply through certain links and go on to meet a platform's referral requirements. See the full referral disclosure.

Does a referral affect my pay?

No. Referral payments come from the hiring platform to ChooChoo, not out of your compensation. The pay and terms offered to you are the same either way.

Why do applications include AI interviews or assessments?

Many of these platforms screen a large volume of applicants and use automated interviews or paid skills assessments as part of that process. It's common in this category of work, not something ChooChoo adds.

Are assessments paid?

It depends on the listing and platform. When a listing states whether an assessment is paid, we try to note it. When it's not stated, we don't guess — check the application page directly.

How stable is the work?

It varies a lot by project. Contract work like this can pause, scale up, or end without much notice. See what this work is really like for a fuller picture.

Can I apply to more than one role?

Generally yes, if you're eligible for both — that's part of why ChooChoo lists more than one role at a time. Confirm with each platform's own policy if you're unsure.

Why are some listings no longer available?

Roles close when the hiring platform stops accepting applications. We mark the listing rather than deleting the page outright, and point you toward related current roles.

How often are listings checked?

Regularly — the current check date is shown in the site footer as "Listings last checked."

Can ChooChoo check my application status?

No. ChooChoo has no visibility into your application, interview, or hiring status on any platform.

Can ChooChoo help with platform support issues?

No — for payment, account, or platform access issues, you'll need to contact the hiring platform's support directly. ChooChoo can't see or act on account-level issues.

How do I report an inaccurate or broken listing?

Use the report a listing problem page. That's the fastest way to get something fixed.

Why are certain project details not included?

ChooChoo only publishes what's in the public listing or another authorized public source. Confidential client details, internal workflows, and private selection criteria are never published, even when known.
